ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (7.66 grams), obv. head of female to right, the hair is held bound by a net, rev. corn ear, **META[P] to left, stalk to right, scallop shell above stalk, (cf.S.409, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 492, SNG ANS 371 [same dies]). Nearly very fine and very scarce.
