ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (272-235 B.C.), silver stater (6.30 grams), obv. naked boy rider crowning stationary horse to right, below **AGAY A PXO**S, in two lines, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a distaff and a kantharos, lighted torch to right, **TAPAS below, (cf.S.374, cf.Vl.852 [same obv. die], cf.SNG ANS 1179). Very fine, very rare with an unpublished reverse type.
