ANGLO SAXON, Kings of Wessex, Alfred the Great (A.D. 871-899) silver penny, issued c.880, obv. diademed bust right, AELFRED REX around, rev. Londonia monogram, (S.1061, N.644, BMC vi). Weak on right edge and chipped there otherwise very fine and rare.
