BUTESHIRE, Rothsay, Rothsay Cotton Works owned by William Kelly, four shillings and sixpence, 1820, a Ferdinand VII Mexico City Mint eight reales 1809 countermarked Rothsay Cotton Works in a circle 4/6 above 1820 within the inner circle, punch mark under shield on obverse (Davis 61). Host coin good fine, countermark very fine and rare.

Ex Glendining's Sale 3 May 1978 (lot 165). Thirty coins known with this countermark.
