MANUEL I, (1143-1180), electrum aspron trachy (scyphate), Thessalonica mint, (4.16 grams), obv. Virgin enthroned facing wearing nimbus, MP **Q*V to left and right, rev. facing figures of St. Demetrius on right and Manuel I on left, holding a labarum between them, around [MAN]UH**L* to left, O/**D*/ H/M/H/TPI/O/S, (S.1974, Hendy Pl.14, 7-9, BMC 31-33). Large flan, about as struck, extremely fine and very scarce.
