CONSTANS II, (A.D. 641-668), gold solidus of thick fabric and small module, issued at Carthage mint in A.D. 654-655, (4.35 grams), issued year 13, obv. facing busts of rulers Constans II bearded, and Constantine IV beardless, each Constans with cross on globe, around dN CI TAANT, rev. cross potent on three steps, around VICVO OVI**G* (reversed), in exergue CONOB, (S.1039, DOC 216). Extremely fine, with mint bloom on the obverse, irregular legends, but of good style, very rare.
