PALESTINE, Judaea, Second Revolt or Bar Cochba War, (A.D. 132-135), medium bronze, AE 25, (11.78 grams), Third Coinage, undated attributed to year 3 = A.D. 134-5, obv. vine leaf, around Hebrew legend = 'For the Freedom of Jerusalem', rev. seven branch palm tree with legend in Hebrew 'Shim`on', (S.5687, Mildenberg 118 [these dies obv. 10, rev. 82, notes 19 examples], Mesh. 73, H. 736 [173]). Attractive well struck example, brown patina, very fine/nearly extremely fine and scarce.
