EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II Philadelphus, (285-246 B.C.), silver decadrachm, (34.28 grams), Alexandria mint, dated as year 23 = 248 B.C., obv. veiled head of Arsinoe II to right, wearing stephane, behind downwards arrow, rev. double cornucopiae, bound with fillet, around ARSINOHS FILADELFOU, (cf.S.7770; Sv. 517, BMC 19). Large piece from edge probably from original time of striking, two small chop marks on cheek, otherwise very fine with attractive dark tone with additional colour.
