SYRIA, Kingdom of, Alexander II, (128-123 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.5 grams), Antioch mint, obv. diademed head of Alexander II to right, rev. Zeus seated to left on throne, holding wreath bearing Nike in hand and other hand holding a sceptre, **BASILEWS* to right, **ALE XANDROU* to left, to left I**SI*, under throne star over **D*, (S.7115, cf.ACNAC Houghton 297, Newell SMA 333 [p.85]). Surface porosity, otherwise good very fine, scarce.
