ATTICA, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.72 grams), issued 168-7 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 136-5 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, to left club lion skin and bow in case, legend across A QE, HRA ARI STO, EXE, HP below, all within wreath, (cf.S.2555, cf.Thompson 336 same obverse die). Toned, extremely fine and very rare, the letters HP below unknown for these other letter combinations.

The only other similar known specimen noted by Thompson with allmost all these legends and symbols, had GA below instead of HP, and this was in the Hermitage (2) Sale by Schlessinger (lot 906), Feb. 4, 1935.
