MACEDON, kingdom of Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, issued 188-170 B.C., (16.7 grams), Temnos mint, obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, in dotted border, rev. Zeus seated to left on throne to left with eagle in outstretched hand, to left a vine tendril and oenochoe, above *ECENIKOS*, and below throne **GEITAS*, to right **ALEXANDROU* and below **BASILEWS*, (cf.S.6713, Price 1690, Tell Kotchek hoard 154-211, Muller 966, BMC 1690a-b). Very fine.
