MACEDON, kingdom of Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, issued 310-290 B.C., (16.83 grams), Corinth mint, obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, in dotted border, rev. Zeus seated to left on throne to left with eagle in outstretched hand, to left a wreath, and below throne monogram DI, to right ALEXANDROU and below BASILEWS, (cf.S.6713, Price 671, Meydancikkale Hoard 478, Muller -, BMC -). Good very fine.
