THRACE, Island of, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.7 grams), obv. head of young Dionysos wearing ivy wreath to right, rev. naked Herakles standing facing head to left, holding club and lion skin, around **HPAKLEOUS SWTHROS QASIWN, to left in field monogram MH, (S.1759, BMC 67-78, SNG Cop. 1049). Nearly very fine, holed.
