SICILY, Syracuse, (c.474-450 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.3 grams), obv. slow quadriga driven to right by male charioteer, Nike flying right crowning horses, rev. **[SUPAKOSION] around, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, hair tied above, four dolphins around, (cf.S.932, Boehringer 589 same dies, Hirsch sale Weber collection 671 same dies). Porous flan, otherwise very fine, scarce.

Boehringer note 7 specimens from these dies, only a few in private collections.
