ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.335-330 B.C.), silver stater, (7.54 grams), obv. bearded Corinthian helmeted head of Leukippos to right, rev. ear of corn, to right [ME]T[A], to left club erect over leaf, [AMI] below, (S.415, Johnston [NN&M 164] Class B, 2, cf.SNG Ash.728). Very small dumpy flan, otherwise nearly very fine and scarce.
