ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (272-235 B.C.), silver stater, (6.5 grams), obv. warrior in close fitting thorax and hurling short javelin on horse galloping to right, below **FIPPODA in one line, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a kantharos and distaff, to right an amphora, **DI behind, **[T] APAS below, (cf.S.375, Vl.904, SNG ANS 1221). Trace of mint bloom, nearly extremely fine, rare.
