CELTIC, Danube Region, reduced weight issue in Oltenia and Bucuresti areas, imitation of Philip II tetradrachm, (late 3rd - 2nd century B.C.), silver tetradrachm (sic), (7.985 grams), obv. crude head of Zeus to right, rev. horse to left with remanants of rider, (cf.S.211-2, CCCCBM Vol.I, type C2 group c [Saddle-head with first stage of deterioration], No.30 [same dies], Forrer 546, De la Tour 9874). Weak in places, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.

Although of low weight for a tetradrachm, they are often described as didrachms (p.26 CCCCBM).
