TRIO: King's South Africa Medal 1901-02 - two bars - South Africa 1901; South Africa 1902; Natal Rebellion Medal - one bar - 1906; Permanent Forces of the Empire Beyond the Seas Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (GVR). Tpr J.Bonnor Steinaeker's Horse on first medal, Tpr J.Bonner Natal Police on second, No.795 Sgt G.Bonner (S.A.M.R.) on third medal. First medal impressed, last two engraved. Fine-good fine.

No.548 Pte John Bonner 4th Victorian Imperial Bushmans Contingent left Australia on 1st May 1900 on the troopship Victorian. Pte Bonner remained in South Africa after the 4th returned to Australia on June 1901, and joined the Bushveldt Carbineers, later seeing service with Steinaeker's Horse.
