GROUP OF FIVE. 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; British War Medal (M.I.D.); Australia Service Medal; Reserve Decoration (EIIR). A.S.H. Spain RANR(S). Mounted as worn. Stars unnamed medals impressed. RD engraved 'Lt Cdr A.S.H. Spain RANR 1955'. Very fine.
M.I.D: L.G. 9 October 1945. 'For gallantry, fortitude and skill whilst serving in HMAS MANOORA in numerous amphibious assaults in the South West Pacific Area, including operations in New Guinea, the Philippines and Borneo. These extensive operations covered more than two years service.' Together with: group of miniatures; two ribbon bars; biographical and service details and biographical details of recipient's father, Commander Staunton William Spain VD RANR who served with the NSW Naval Contingent to China 1900.
