Cecil Lane, Enl 3May 1915, Emb. 31 May 1915, RTA 28 Feb 1919. DCM CG 14 December 1916. 'For conspicuous gallantry during operations, Sappers Donaldson and Lane repeatedly passed through the enemy's heavy barrages in order to lay and repair cables, thus maintaining communication at a very important period'. Together with copies of citation, Commonwealth Gazette, and Discharge Certificate.
