MARRIAGE OF PRINCESS LOUISE AND THE MARQUIS OF LORNE, 1871, in bronze (63mm) by J.S.Wyon, obv. conjoined heads l., legend around, thistle and rose dividing legend above and below, rev. Heraldic shields joined by a helmet dividing two crowns on a field of roses and thistles within an ornamental quatrefoil (BHM.2916; Eimer 1613). With cabinet friction otherwise FDC.

Princess Louise was the 4th daughter of Queen Victoria. John Douglas Sutherland Campbell, Marquis of Lorne, later 9th Duke of Argyll(1845-1914); Governor-General of Canada; unionist M.P.A. Ex. Murray Collection.
