PRESERVATION OF GEORGE III, 1800, bronzed proof medal in copper, by C.H. Kuchler, 48mm, (54.0 grams), obv. George III bust to left, rev. flaming altar, eye of Jehovah above, dated 1800, (Pollard 23 (i) [p.293], Eimer 916, BHM 483, Fearon 251.1). Red-brown patina, FDC.

Ex. A.H. Baldwin, London. The attempted assassination of the King took place in Drury Lane Theatre, where he was shot by James Hadfield, a madman, as he entered the box. The king was reported to have shown no concern and to have 'slept as quietly as usual during the interval.'
