SIEGE OF GIBRALTAR. 1782, in silver (49mm) by L.Pingo, obv. view of Gibraltar with fleet in foreground, around, PER TOT DISCRIMINA RERUM, ex. XIII Sept / MDCCLXXXII, rev. REDEN / LAMOTTE / SYDOW / ELLIOT within wreath, around, BRUDERSCHAFT. (BHM.248, Eimer 796). Scratches on obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine.

Struck in honour of the Hanoverian Brigade. General Eliott had the medals presented to the Officers and men present at the siege. Reden, LaMotte and Sydow were the names of the regiments comprising the Brigade, named after the Officers who raised them.
