OLIVER CROMWELL, Lord Protector 1653, cast and chased medal in silver, by Thomas Simon, 38mm, (15.3 grams), obv. bust of Oliver Cromwell to left, rev. lion sejant holding the arms of the Protectorate, (Eimer 188, MI 45 illustrated Pl. XXXV, 4; Fearon 103.3, Baldwin 1996 Commemorative Medals [506]). A contemporary silver cast, a splendid example, extremely fine, scarce.
