HENRY VIII (1509-1547), third coinage, posthumous groat, Tower mint, mm. lis, issued 1547-1548, 4th bust, (2.6 grams), with Roman lettering and lozenge stops, pellets in annulets in forks of cross on the reverse, (S.2403, N.1871, Whitton BNJ XXXVI, Part III, Plate XVIII, 9 from the same dies). A superb full round specimen with some original mint bloom, extremely fine, one of the finest if not finest known example of this base metal posthumous coinage.
