TAMWORTH, John Harding's penny, 1799 by Hancock Tamworth Castle/Town Hall, ornate double line edge lettering (D&H 9). Full mint red, subdued but relatively untoned, uncirculated and very rare, one of the finest known, only 48 struck.

Purchased from Spink in 1987.
