MELBOURNE 1956, round presentation porcelain medal (95mm), obverse, Olympic rings in colour in center, inscription around edge CITIUS ALTIUS FORTIUS; reverse, GESAMTDEUTSCHE OLYMPIAMANNSCHAFT around edge, MELBOURNE / 1956 inside wreath in centre. In presentation box as issued. Nearly uncirculated.

Gesamtdeutsche Olympiamannschaft ( = combined German Olympic Team). For the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics East and West Germany entered a combined team.
