ANGLO-GALLIC, Henry V (1413-1422), billon niquet, Rouen mint, issued 30th November 1421, obv. leopard passant to left, fleur-de-lis above, rev. cross pattee within inner circle, and with H in centre like an A, (Duncan Elias 260a). Nearly very fine, scarce.

This example is almost identical in terms of wear and condition as the Elias plate piece (p.232). Elias had two examples in his collection of this variety in similar condition (lot 369, Spink auction sale 77, June 1990). The lot of three, two with this variety realised Å“165 in that sale.
