AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), AE dupondius, Rome mint, issued 16 B.C. by C. Gallius Lupercus, (8.99 grams), obv. [AVGVSTVS] / TRIBVNIC / [P]OTEST in three lines within oak wreath, rev. [C. GA]LLIVS LUPE[RCVS VIR III A A A F F] around large SC, (cf.S.505, RIC 378, C.435, CBN 422, BMC 173). Off centred, black patina, very good and very scarce.
