AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, North Peloponnesian mint, issued c.21 B.C., (3.67 grams), obv. bare head of Augustus to right, around AVGVS[TVS], rev. no legend, laurel wreath, interwoven with prows (corona rostrata), tied with long fillet arranged centrally, (S.-, RIC 473, C.335, BMC 669). Scratches on obverse, needs cleaning, otherwise fine/very good and rare.

Ex. Baldwins, London, November 1989. The issue recalls and records the battle of Actium.
