AUGUSTUS AS OCTAVIAN, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, uncertain Italian mint (probably Brundisium, maybe Rome), issued 29-27 B.C. (3.52 grams), obv. Mars head helmeted to right below IMP, all within linear circle, rev. CAESAR on rim of round shield, with eight rayed star in centre, lying on crossed spear and sword, (S.461, RIC 274, C.44, BMC 644). Bankers circle mark in obverse field, otherwise good fine and very scarce.
