AUGUSTUS AS OCTAVIAN, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, uncertain Italian mint (probably Brundisium, maybe Rome), issued 29-27 B.C. (3.46 grams), obv. Octavian bare head to right within linear circle, rev. [I]MP to left across, CAESAR to right across, separating Octavian figure cloaked, holding in right hand a spear and in left hand a parazonium placed on top of a rostal column, (S.-, RIC 271, C.124, BMC 633). Uneven tone, otherwise good fine and rare.
