SYRIA, under Roman governor Aulus Gabinius (57-55 B.C.), in name of Philip I Philadelphus, (89-83 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.29 grams), Antioch mint, obv. diademed head of Philip I to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus seated left on throne, holds Nike with wreath in outstretched hand, all within laurel wreath, on right, **[BA]SILE[WS] FILIPPOU*, and to left **EPIFANOUS [FI]LADELFO[U]*, to left XAB monogram, (S.7214, Newell Num. Chron. 1919, No.1 [p.87], ANSMN 5 [1952] 55f., RPC 4124, SNG Von Post 605 [this coin]). Nearly extremely fine.
