IONIA, Samos, (510-500 B.C.), silver drachm, (2.90 grams), obv. forepart of winged boar to right, rev. lion head facing within incuse square with dotted border, (S.3525 [£275], Asyut Hoard No.645 [this coin, illustrated], described and illustrated, Barron Class B [p.172-3]). Very fine/fine and very rare.

This coin is unique being the only coin in the hoard of this denomination from Samos and presents and oportunity to acquire a very rare coin with an impecable petigree from the greatest documented Archaic Greek coin hoard ever found.
