IONIA, Ephesus, (c.108-107 B.C.), silver cistophoric tetradrachm, (12.38 grams), year ZK = 27 = 108-7 B.C., obv. cista mystica containing serpent, all within ivy wreath, rev. bow in case between two coiled serpents, to left monogram **EFE, to right torch, dioscuri cap with star above, (cf.S.4745, Kleiner (ANS MN 18, Series 10, [cf.p.25], [date not reported], SNG Von Post 186 [this coin]). Two attempted piercings, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.
