BITHYNIA, Kingdom of, Nicomedes IV, (94-74 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.26 grams), issued year 207 = 92-91 B.C., obv. head of Nicomedes II to right, with diadem, rev. Zeus standing to left, holding wreath and sceptre, eagle on thunderbolt to left, before Zeus monogram of **ANPR*, to right **BASILEWS* to left **EPIFANOUS NIKOMHDOU*, below date Z**S* (207), (S.7276, BMC 3 [p.215], SNG Cop. 651). Dark tone, nearly extremely fine, very scarce.

From the reign of Nicomedes II the regal tetradrachms of Bithynia bear dates according to an era commencing in 298 B.C., those of this reign range from years 205-224.
