PELOPONNESOS, Achaean League, hemidrachm, Messene mint (once attributed as Hermione mint), (c.160-150 B.C.), mint mark tripod with trident head, obv. Zeus head laureate right, dotted border, rev, wreath with XA monogram tripod with trident head above, letters in field, (cf.S.2989, Clerk 173, BMC 75, SNG Cop. 273). Very fine.
