MACEDON, Kingdom of, Demetrios Poliorcetes, (294-288 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.1 grams), Pella mint, issued 294-293 B..C., obv. Nike blowing trumpet and holding mast to left on prow, rev. Poseidon striding to left brandishing trident and holding chlamys on outstretched left arm, monogram of ANT in circle in right field, A to left in field, below **BASI LEWS, to right **DHMHTMOU, (S.6765, Newell 44, Pl.IV, 14). Porous and uneven field, otherwise, very fine, and rare.
