MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III (336-323 B.C.), Silver drachm, Colophon mint, issued 310-301 B.C., (4.00 grams), obv. head of Herakles to right, with lion skin, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle on outstretched hand, crescent under throne, K in left field, to right, ALEXANDPOY, (cf.S.6730, P.1826, M.274). Nearly very fine.
