ITALY, Lucanaia, Poseidonia, (c.480-450 B.C.), silver plated stater or didrachm, (5.4 grams), obv. Poseidon, naked but for chlamys over shoulder, advancing brandishing trident, retrograde traces of [**POMES], rev. bull walking to left, above **SEMOP (retrograde), (cf. S.424, SNG Cop.1278-9, SNG ANS 650-2). Very porous, light weight, good fine.
