POLITICAL AND SOCIAL SERIES, penny size medalet, bust of Thomas Paine right/Aesop's fable of the mountain in labour, 1793 (D&H 208) struck in white metal. Extremely fine, of good metal and rare.

Ex J.R. Farnell Collection (lot 119). Thomas Paine was threatened with execution for writing the Rights of Man in 1791 but avoided it when elected a Deputy to the French Convention in Calais.
