SALONINA, wife of Gallienus, (A.D. 253-268), AE as, Rome mint, (13.7 grams), issued 255-6, obv. draped bust of Salonina to right around CORNELIA SALONINA AVG, rev. Venus standing left with apple and sceptre, around VENV[S GE]NETRI[X], S C across field, (S.3052, RIC 55, C.123). Dark patination, strong portrait, good very fine/good fine and scarce.

Ex. Sir Charles Oman collection, Christie's, February 7, 1968 (lot 196 part) and a duplicate from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with their distinctive ticket.
