ROMAN REPUBLIC, anonymous issue, cast AE triens, (289-245 B.C.), (110 grams), obv. thunderbolt, four dots, rev. dolphin right, four dots below, (S. 9, Cr.14/3, Thurlow-Vecchi 'Italian Cast Coinage' No.3 p.36, Pl.24). Pitted surface, better than the illustrated Thurlow-Vecchi example, fine, very rare.
