PARTHIA, Kingdom of, Mithradates II, (123-88 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.2 grams), Ecbatana mint, obv. large size bare-headed bust to left with long beard, wearing diadem, rev. archer seated right on throne, five line inscription, (S.7371, Sellwood 27.2). Attractive tone, extremely fine and scarce.

Ex. Coin Galleries Mail Bid Sale July 16, 1997, (lot 71). This is the first use of the title 'King of kings' on Parthian coins.
