TRENCH ART, ashtray made from the base of a brass artillery shell, the base with 'F/Japanese character/6/crossed canons/circle with 3 dividers/Japanese character', upright in the centre is a large machine gun shell case with cartridge fitted; also a container made from the brass base of a shell casing marked '4.5 in Howr/II/OT3365' and other markings as well as 1917, with rolled over top edge and three circular lines around and with O S N Co (Orient Steam Navigation Co) on one side above the circular lines. Nearly very fine. (2)
