MADRAS PRESIDENCY, British Style Coinage system, Gold third mohur or five rupees, issued 1819, struck at Madras mint, (3.88 grams), obv. EIC arms without suporters, around ENGLISH EAST INDIA COMPANY, rev. in Persian 'Five rupees of the Honourable English Company', (Pr. 244, KM. 422). Nearly extremely fine, scarce.

Ex. Wreck of the 'Fame', Glendining's June 16, 1971, (lot 132 part) and Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 2029). $$ The issue was 2,179,563.
