CHINA, Hsin Dynasty, Wang Mang Interregnum, 'Hsu pu ssu pai', square shoulder and square base spade, (c.A.D. 9 -22), four characters spade money, value 400, length 43mm, (9.5 grams), (Coole 10003 Vol.7 p.191, TFP 472, Pl.54). Some green patina encrustation, otherwise good very fine and very rare.
