Lot 2677

Estimate $500
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $800

TICKET OF LEAVE, Colonial Secretary's Office, N.S.W., 2nd October 1837, dispensing with the Attendance at Government Work, of Daniel Griffen who was tried at City Cork 27 April 1832 and transported for seven years on the ship 'Rollin Castle' in 1833 employed in the District of Yass, and signed. Weakness, missing corner and fragile around bottom edges, rare.

This and the next lot are both interesting in that they are on different forms with different titles to office administering convicts. Curiously both Tickets of Leave were for convicts employed in the Yass district of N.S.W.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
