ANONYMOUS C AND AVR SERIES, (211 B.C.), Sardinia mint, AE semis, (10.94 grams), obv. head of Saturn to right, [S] behind, rev. prow to right, ROMA below, C to right, [S] above; AE sextans, (4.81 grams), obv. head of Mercury to right, two dots above, rev. prow to right, ROMA above, AVR monogram to right, two dots below, (S.-, -, Cr.63/3, 65/6, Syd.157a, 162d). First with surface corrosion, but the reverse double struck creating a ROMA legend at top and bottom of the coin, otherwise nearly very fine and very rare (2 examples of type only in Paris), second very fine and rare. (2)
