MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.036 grams), Uncertain mint, probably issued c.325-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, X under throne, **W* in exergue, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6730, Price -, BMC -, M.-). Good very fine/nearly extremely fine and an unpublished type.
